STONE & COUNTERTOPS
Granite Countertops in
Los Angeles, CA
Granite is natural stone, quarried in large blocks and cut into slabs, so no two countertops are ever the same. It is one of the hardest materials you can put in a kitchen: it shrugs off heat, resists scratches and, once sealed, handles everyday spills without trouble. ARD Remodeling fabricates and installs granite countertops for kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor spaces throughout Los Angeles and Surrounding Areas.
We take you through slab selection, plan the layout on your slab so the movement and color land where you want them, and install the finished countertop sealed and ready for years of use.

SLAB SELECTION
Choosing a Slab, Not Just a Color
Small samples only tell part of the story with granite. The movement, veining and color shifts across a full slab are what give the finished countertop its character, and they vary from slab to slab even within the same name. That’s why we encourage Los Angeles homeowners to view and tag the actual slabs your countertop will be cut from.
Once the slab is chosen, we plan the layout on it. Islands usually get the most dramatic section, seams are placed where the pattern can be matched, and any natural features you love are positioned where they’ll be seen.

Granite Questions

- Natural stone
- Sealed & protected
- Unique patterns
How often does granite need to be sealed?
It depends on the stone and how the kitchen is used. Many granites need resealing every one to two years; some denser stones go longer. A simple water test tells you when: if water stops beading and darkens the stone, it’s time.
Can I put a hot pan directly on granite?
Granite tolerates heat far better than most surfaces, but repeated extreme heat in one spot can affect the sealer. Trivets are a good habit for very hot cookware.
Will my countertop look like the sample?
Samples show the general color, but the pattern of your countertop comes from your specific slab. That’s why we recommend viewing the full slab before it is cut, whether you’re in Los Angeles or nearby.
Is granite a good choice for outdoor kitchens?
Yes. Granite handles sun, heat and weather well, which makes it one of the best natural choices for outdoor kitchens and bar tops.
